The company is still going strong, and their early releases are some of the brightest gems in any whisky collection. The Sails in the Wind was a seven-part series released in 1993 and was remarkable in that five of the bottlings were from Islay distilleries. This Bunnahabhain was distilled in 1979 and matured in single butt #7472. An austere piece of Victorian architecture on the north-east coast of Islay, Bunnahabhain is a relative outsider on the island, traditionally known for producing an un-peated single malt. The majority of this was used for blending, as was its initial intended purpose.
