Clase Azul Master Artisans x Ángel Ortiz Jardín Tonalteca is one of three exceptional decanters in the fourth Master Artisans collection, celebrating the ceramic heritage of Tonalá, Jalisco. Created by master artisan Ángel Ortiz using the traditional barro bruñido technique, the hand-decorated decanter depicts a natural Tonalá landscape with a white-tailed deer, local flora, blue agave and the iconic Tonalá flower. Inside is a limited-edition Reposado tequila crafted by Master Distiller Viridiana Tinoco, aged in American whiskey barrels and finished in Premier Cru Supérieur Sauternes wine casks. The result is a rich, elegant tequila layered with ripe stone fruit, dried fruit, toasted nuts, oak and delicate sweetness.

Nose: Ripe apricot and peach lead the aroma, followed by raisin, soft roasted almond and delicate oak, with subtle cooked-agave character underneath.

Palate: Smooth and medium-to-full-bodied, with candied apricot, ripe peach and gentle sweetness balanced by toasted nuts, warm oak and a delicate touch of spice.

Finish: Rounded and elegant, with lingering stone fruit, subtle spice, toasted almond and oak, lifted by a gentle bright acidity and refined agave character.

Distillery Information

Clase Azul México was founded in 1997 in Guadalajara and has built an international reputation for combining premium Mexican spirits with highly distinctive handcrafted decanters. The Master Artisans collection was created to celebrate and preserve Mexico's exceptional artistic traditions through collaborations with some of the country's most respected craftspeople. The Ángel Ortiz collection represents the fourth chapter of this series and consists of three individually designed one-liter decanters: Jardín Tonalteca, Coro Silvestre and Paraíso Nocturno. Ortiz is a master of Tonalá's celebrated barro bruñido ceramic tradition, a labor-intensive technique that creates its distinctive polished surface through burnishing. Each tequila in the collection was developed by Clase Azul Master Distiller Viridiana Tinoco, pairing increasingly mature expressions with Ortiz's artistic interpretation of Mexico's natural and cultural heritage. Only 100 complete three-decanter sets were released worldwide.
