Nose: Fresh candle wax and cider apple with grapefruit, tart citrus and subtle black radish. Hints of salted mandarin, chalk and liquorice add a distinctly mineral and coastal character.

Palate: Powerful and waxy, with tart orchard fruit, grapefruit and salted lemon. The palate develops an oily texture with mineral notes, citrus peel and a subtle saline quality characteristic of young coastal Clynelish.

Finish: Long and increasingly coastal, with lingering candle wax, salted citrus, mineral notes and a persistent oily texture. A firm saline character remains alongside gentle fruit and liquorice.

Distillery Information

Clynelish Distillery is located in Brora on Scotland's northeast Highland coast and is renowned for producing one of Scotch whisky's most distinctive waxy and maritime single malt styles. The modern distillery was established in 1968, replacing much of the production capacity of the original Clynelish distillery, which later became associated with the Brora name. Today, Clynelish is an important component in several Diageo blends while also enjoying a strong reputation as a single malt among independent bottlers. Thompson Bros, based in Dornoch in the Scottish Highlands, has become one of Scotland's most respected independent bottlers, known for small-batch releases that emphasize distinctive spirit character, careful maturation and natural presentation.
