A very special edition of Crown Royal released in 2006, XR was created using the last batch of rare whiskies distilled at Seagram's Waterloo Distillery. Fire destroyed much of the distilling complex in 1993, making this a true one off unrepeatable bottling with legendary pedigree.

Nestled on the edge of Lake Winnipeg, Crown Royal’s distillery in Gimli, Manitoba, is home to 1.5 million barrels of delicious whisky that sit patiently waiting to be shared with the world. One of Manitoba’s natural beauties, the town of Gimli hugs the western shoreline of one of the world’s largest freshwater lakes, with sandy beaches, an active harbor and the largest Icelandic population outside of Iceland.

"I purchased two bottles back in 2006 or 2007. We drank one bottle and it was delicious. I assumed it would become rare one day so I saved the other bottle. Made a promise to a friend of mine who passed away but I would open it up if and when Our Houston Texans football team ever made it to the Super Bowl. Seriously doubt it will ever get opened because they are not playing very well. It will most likely end up in my last will and testament and handed down to my kids.
