A mature 19-year-old Tamdhu distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2026 for the Decadent Drams series. It spent its full maturation in a refill Sherry hogshead, allowing the elegant Tamdhu spirit to remain at the forefront rather than becoming dominated by oak. Rich dark fruits, dates, raisins and figs combine with earthy malt, bread, treacle and tobacco. A classic, restrained sherry-driven Speyside with excellent balance and depth.

Nose: Sticky and tangy dark fruits with a waxy texture, followed by plum wine, mature orange liqueur and earthy Armagnac.

Palate: Rich, classical sherry character with dark fruit chutney, plums baked in Armagnac, sweet liquorice, ruby ale and mineral notes.

Finish: Long and well-balanced, moving between sweet dark fruit and drier notes of earth and bitter chocolate.

Distillery Information

A Gaelic word meaning “The Green Vale”, Dailuaine distillery stands between the River Spey and the foot of Ben Rinnes, the tallest peak in Speyside. Dailuaine was founded in 1851 by William Mackenzie near Carron in Speyside, with production beginning in 1852. After Mackenzie’s death, the distillery was leased to Aberlour banker James Fleming, and that early change in control helped drive the distillery’s expansion in the decades that followed.
