Nose: Fresh apples, forest berries and green foliage, with sweet malt, subtle wine notes and a gentle earthy character.

Palate: Sweet and rounded, with salted caramel, forest fruits and dark chocolate, supported by rich malt and soft oak spice.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering dark fruits, caramel, chocolate and a gentle drying wine-cask influence.

Distillery Information

Dailuaine Distillery was founded in 1852 by William Mackenzie in the Speyside village of Carron. The distillery became one of the region’s important malt producers and is particularly associated with supplying whisky for blending. It was acquired by Distillers Company Limited in 1925 and is now part of Diageo’s portfolio. Dailuaine is notable for its distinctive pagoda-style roof and its location beneath Ben Rinnes, close to the River Spey. The First Editions range from Hunter Laing focuses on individual casks selected for distinctive character, with bottlings generally presented at natural cask strength and without chill filtration or added colouring.
