Nearly all of Mortlach's whisky production is used for blending, and is rarely available as a single malt. Mortlach 24 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (First Editions) was distilled in 1989 and was aged for 24 years in a cask that was previously used to mature bourbon. Following a nearly quarter-century slumber, the whisky was bottled in 2013 at cask strength without the use of chill filtration.

Nose: Rich aroma of citrus, dried fruits and figs.
Palate: Notes of brown sugar, vanilla, caramel and toffee dominate the palate.
Finish: Finish accented by touches of peppercorn and biscotti.

Mortlach distillery is a distiller of Scotch whisky in Dufftown, Moray, Scotland. Founded in 1823, the distillery is currently owned by Diageo. The whisky is a key component in several Johnnie Walker bottlings., while Diageo also markets four Mortlach single malts.
