Garrison Brothers Ranch Reserve Oloroso Sherry Cask is an eight-year-old Texas Straight Bourbon that spends its first four years in new, toasted and charred white American oak before another four years in Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez, Spain. The extended finishing gives the bourbon a rich, savory character while retaining the bold influence of the Texas Hill Country climate. Walnut, fig, blackberry and baking spices are layered with vanilla, charred oak and dried fruit. Bottled at 110 proof, it is a structured and deeply complex expression designed for slow sipping.

Nose: Ripe plum, blackberry and lush fig with vanilla cream, walnut, baking spices and charred oak.

Palate: Rich and structured, with dried fig, blackberry, cinnamon sugar and creamy vanilla alongside dark fruit, toasted walnut and tannic oak.

Finish: Long and complex, with blackberry, white pepper, cinnamon, leather and lingering dry oak spice.

Distillery Information

Garrison Brothers Distillery was founded by Dan and Nancy Garrison in 2006 in Hye, Texas, and began selling its bourbon in 2010. It is recognized as the first legal whiskey distillery in Texas and the first distillery outside Kentucky to produce authentic, handcrafted, corn-to-cork bourbon. The distillery makes its bourbon entirely in Texas, using Texas-grown grain, distilling and aging it under the intense Hill Country climate before bottling by hand at the ranch. Ranch Reserve represents the distillery's next generation of experimentation, selecting exceptional barrels for extended finishing in character-rich casks. The Oloroso expression is one of the series' inaugural releases, with only 6,000 bottles produced.
