That refill sherry cask suits Glen Elgin well, allowing the distillery’s fruit-led Speyside style to stay clear while adding layers of dried fruit, soft nutty richness and gentle oak.

Distillery Information

Glen Elgin is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery near Elgin in Moray, founded in 1898 by William Simpson, formerly manager at Glenfarclas, and James Carle. Production began in 1900, but the timing was difficult, as the Scotch whisky market was hit by the Pattison crash, and the distillery closed after only a few months. It later restarted under J.J. Blanche & Co before becoming part of Scottish Malt Distillers in 1930.
