Dark fruits, dense sherry sweetness and polished oak are layered with chocolate and warming spice, while the underlying spirit remains clearly defined rather than overwhelmed by the wood.

Nose: Rich dark fruits and raisins with honey, baked apple and orange peel. Toasted almonds, polished oak, dark chocolate and gentle baking spices develop alongside Glen Garioch's characteristic malty richness.

Palate: Full-bodied and richly textured, with dense sherry sweetness, caramel and dark fruits. Cocoa, roasted nuts and cinnamon combine with robust malt and warming oak spice, creating a powerful yet balanced Highland character.

Finish: Long, warming and complex, with lingering dried fruit, dark chocolate, polished oak and persistent peppery spice. The finish remains rich and powerful while retaining impressive balance.

Distillery Information

Glen Garioch is situated in Oldmeldrum in the rich arable lands of Aberdeenshire, so is classed as a Highland distillery. Records date Glen Garioch back to 1797, although there are unsubstantiated claims that the distillery is older still, which may make it the oldest working distillery in Scotland.
