A highly limited 17-year-old GlenAllachie distilled in 2008 and bottled by Duncan Taylor in 2026 as part of The Octave series. Finished in a single Pedro Ximénez-seasoned octave cask #3050994, the cask yielded just 87 bottles. The concentrated PX influence brings deep dried-fruit sweetness, dark chocolate, molasses and warming spice to GlenAllachie’s rich Speyside malt character.

Nose: Opulent raisins, fig jam and prunes with dates, orange zest, molasses, cocoa, milk chocolate and toasted almonds.

Palate: Silky and full-bodied, with rich raisin, fig and date alongside molasses, dark chocolate, espresso and toasted almond. Cinnamon, clove and nutmeg add warmth beneath the sweet PX character.

Finish: Long and velvety, with lingering raisin, prune and fig, followed by dark chocolate, orange zest, toasted oak and warming spice.

Distillery Information

GlenAllachie Distillery was built in 1967 near Aberlour in Speyside and spent much of its history primarily producing whisky for blends. The distillery changed direction in 2017 when Billy Walker, Trisha Savage and Graham Stevenson acquired it and developed a more prominent single-malt identity. GlenAllachie is particularly recognized for its extensive approach to wood management and maturation, with a broad range of cask types used to shape its spirit. Duncan Taylor’s The Octave series complements this philosophy through secondary maturation in small octave casks, creating concentrated interactions between mature whisky, oak and the finishing cask.
