An exceptionally mature 30-year-old Glenburgie, distilled in 1995 and selected by Signatory Vintage for its prestigious Symington's Choice range. Drawn exclusively from single cask #217, the whisky received a finish in a first-fill Palo Cortado sherry hogshead, an uncommon cask style combining aromatic elegance with rich, nutty sherry character. Honeyed malt and ripe orchard fruit form the foundation, developing into tropical fruit, dried apricot and orange peel. Toasted almonds, gentle oxidative notes and polished oak add further complexity, while the natural cask strength of 50.2% ABV preserves impressive concentration and texture. Just 339 bottles were produced.

Nose: Honeyed cereals and mature malt, followed by ripe orchard fruit, dried apricot and orange peel. Toasted almonds, subtle nuttiness and polished oak develop alongside delicate aromatic sherry notes.

Palate: Elegant and richly textured, with honeyed malt, dried and tropical fruit, orange peel and gentle sherry sweetness. Toasted nuts, delicate waxiness and aromatic spice build gradually over mature, polished oak.

Finish: Long, dry and refined, with lingering dried fruit, toasted almonds and gentle oxidative sherry notes. Polished oak and aromatic spice remain as the whisky fades slowly.

Glenburgie is a Speyside distillery with a long history dating back to the nineteenth century and is particularly associated with elegant, fruity and softly malty spirit. Its whisky has long been an important component in major Scotch blends, although well-aged single-malt releases have increasingly demonstrated the distillery's excellent potential for independent bottlings. Signatory Vintage, founded by Andrew Symington in 1988, has become one of Scotland's most respected independent bottlers, renowned for its extensive stocks of rare and mature casks. The Symington's Choice series represents some of the company's most exceptional selections, focusing on distinctive, high-quality casks chosen for their individual character. This 1995 Glenburgie showcases three decades of maturation combined with the unusual influence of first-fill Palo Cortado sherry wood.
