Distillery Information

The Glenglassaugh Distillery in Scotland's Aberdeenshire. It specializes in producing Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the Highlands. Each whisky is produced using the traditional method of distilling Scottish barley. The three ranges of whisky are made up of a core range, a limited-edition range and the archive range with both old vintages and non-aged expressions included. The distillery was founded in 1875 by Colonel James Moir and was bought in 1892 by Highland Distillers. In 1960, the distillery underwent a rebuild and continued to make whisky until 1986 when it was put on hiatus. Production began again when the distillery shifted ownership into the hands of a group of investors. They restarted production in 2008. Eventually the BenRiach Distillery bought the distillery in 2013 with the intention of restoring it and bringing it back to life. The distillery is now owned by Brown-Forman and offers a series of tours for visitors and there is also a giftshop onsite. The distillery has a striking Coat of Arms symbolizing the relationship between land and sea. The shape made in between two gannets cunnningly forms the shape of a still.
