It's a single malt that was aged for 14 years in bourbon casks that was then finished for two more years in a new combination of great sweet white wine casks. This includes French Sauternes and Monbazillac to bring notes of orchard fruit and buttery pastries.

Nose: Decadent with notes of baking brioche, baked apricot, vanilla pudding, toasted almond, and hints of chocolate truffles.

Palate: Rich and sticky with swirls of honeycomb, orange syrup, and brioche, balanced by a soft drumbeat of spice and lemon zestiness.

Finish: The finish is long and lingering, with some lemon rind, baking bread, and a touch of honeycomb.

Distillery Information

The Glenmorangie distillery was established in 1843, on the site of a former brewery by brothers William and John Matheson. The name Glenmorangie means ‘Glen of Tranquility’ and it’s still a very peaceful spot on the Dornoch Firth, located about 35 miles north of Inverness in the Highland region. The distillery remained in the hands of the Matheson family until Leith wine and spirits merchant Macdonald & Muir, founded in 1893 Roderick Macdonald and Alexander Muir, acquired a stake in the company in 1918 and eventually gained full control in the 1930s.
