Habitation Velier Rainforest 2024 Rum | 700ML

A 2024 vintage Philippine Pure Single Rum produced at Rainforest Distillers in Bukidnon, Mindanao, from the local Manpu sugarcane variety. The cane is fermented for around 9–11 days with the addition of young muck matured in the tropical environment before being distilled in a pot still. It then spends 20 months aging tropically in ex-Chardonnay casks, with the intense climate producing an angel’s share above 10%. Bottled at natural cask strength without added sugar, coloring or chill filtration.

Nose: Fresh sugarcane juice, pineapple, lime, coconut milk and pear, with vanilla, camphor, green herbs and a subtle earthy character.

Palate: Lively and concentrated, with fresh cane, tropical fruit and citrus followed by camphor, fennel, anise, liquorice and a slightly medicinal herbal character.

Finish: Long, dry and refreshing, with pear, pineapple, lime, floral notes, vetiver, fresh herbs and a delicate Chardonnay-derived sweetness.

Distillery Information

Rainforest Distillers was founded in 2015 in the Bukidnon region of the Philippines by Master Distiller Marc Schulze, who is also associated with Kasa Kaña Rum Agrikultura. The distillery focuses on expressing local Philippine sugarcane through traditional pot-still distillation and distinctive fermentation techniques. Habitation Velier’s Rainforest 2024 represents the project's first collaboration with the distillery and brings Philippine rum into the Pure Single Rum collection. The Habitation Velier philosophy emphasizes pot-still distillation, tropical maturation and bottling without added sugar, coloring or chill filtration.
