Iron Ridge Reserve No.2 is a limited-edition 10-year-old English single malt created by Richard Hammond in partnership with Hawkridge Distillers. The whisky was matured and finished using a selection of ex-bourbon, sherry and red wine casks, creating a layered profile that balances rich fruit with sweet oak influence. Toasted biscuit, raisin and baked banana develop alongside caramel, vanilla and treacle, while a delicate smokiness adds subtle depth without dominating the spirit. Bottled at an approachable 40% ABV and presented unfiltered, this second Iron Ridge Reserve offers a smooth, warming and characterful style designed for relaxed sipping.

Nose: Toasted biscuit, raisin and baked banana, followed by rich treacle and soft caramel. Vanilla sweetness, gentle oak spice and a delicate veil of smoke add further warmth and complexity.

Palate: Silky and rounded, with raisin, treacle and baked banana at the centre. Vanilla and toffee develop alongside dried fruit, subtle oak and gentle spice, with a light smokiness providing balance.

Finish: Long, warming and richly sweet, with lingering treacle, caramel and vanilla. Raisin and baked banana gradually fade alongside gentle oak spice and delicate smoky notes.

Distillery Information

Hammond's Spirits was founded by British television presenter and motoring enthusiast Richard Hammond, with Iron Ridge taking its name from a ridge visible from his home in the Lake District. Hammond partnered with Hawkridge Distillers in Berkshire to develop the range, working closely on cask selection and the overall style of each release. Hawkridge specialises in producing and finishing premium English spirits and has become increasingly recognised for its whisky work. The Iron Ridge Reserve series was launched as a collection of individually numbered limited releases, each exploring different cask influences and expressions of English single malt. Reserve No.2 continued the concept with a younger 10-year-old whisky following the inaugural 12-year-old Reserve, while maintaining the smooth, approachable style Hammond sought for the range.
