Heaven's Door Ascension is the brand's inaugural Kentucky Straight Bourbon and a distinctive blend of two premium Kentucky bourbons, including whiskey produced at Heaven's Door's own distillery at Six Mile Creek in Pleasureville. Aged for more than five years and bottled in small batches at 46% ABV, it combines the richness of traditional bourbon with a lively rye-driven spice. Non-chill filtration preserves the whiskey's natural texture and aromatic character, while caramel and vanilla are balanced by toasted grain, mature oak and warm baking spices. The result is a smooth yet characterful bourbon with a fuller, more concentrated profile than many standard-strength releases.

Nose: Caramel and vanilla, with toasted grains, fresh bread and buttered popcorn. Mature oak, light char and gentle dried-fruit notes add further depth.

Palate: Smooth and rounded, with rich caramel and vanilla balanced by toasted oak. Cinnamon, nutmeg and subtle black pepper bring a warm, spicy dimension to the sweeter bourbon notes.

Finish: Warm and lasting, with lingering caramel, oak and baking spice. Cinnamon and nutmeg remain alongside a gently dry, bittersweet barrel character.

Distillery Information

Heaven's Door is a collection of American whiskeys co-created with legendary musician and artist Bob Dylan, bringing together his interest in American whiskey with his visual artwork. The brand's bottles prominently feature designs inspired by Dylan's distinctive welded iron gates, created at his Black Buffalo Ironworks studio. Heaven's Door later established its own distillery in Pleasureville, Kentucky, on a historic property alongside Six Mile Creek, where small-batch bourbon production began in 2018. Led during the project's development by veteran distiller Ken Pierce, the distillery represents Heaven's Door's move toward producing its own Kentucky whiskey while continuing its broader collection of bourbons, rye and other American whiskeys. Ascension marks an important chapter in that development as the brand's first permanent Kentucky Straight Bourbon release.
