An exceptionally rare 40-year-old Highland Park released in Spring 2023, created from five refill sherry-seasoned European oak hogsheads originally laid down in 1981 and 1982. The whisky was matured for decades before a final seven months in first-fill sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks, adding layers of rich fruit, spice, and vanilla.

Nose: Ripe black cherries, dark chocolate, dried apricots, crushed oregano, mint, eucalyptus, and delicate heather peat smoke.

Palate: Rich and complex, with sweet dried apricot, stem ginger, cloves, dark fruit, warm spice, and subtle vanilla.

Finish: Long, spicy, and gently smoky, with lingering cloves, mint, eucalyptus, dark fruit, and Orkney heather smoke.
