Hochstadter’s Vatted Straight Rye Whiskey is crafted by vatting together hand-selected barrels of whiskey sourced from all across America. The whiskeys come from Pennsylvania — the birthplace of rye whiskey — as well as Kentucky and Indiana, and are each aged between four and eight years.
Hochstadter's Vatted Straight Rye Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: Aroma of nutmeg, clove and toasted rye bread.
Palate: Notes of fruitcake, blackstrap molasses and vanilla.
Finish: Delicious finish accented by notes of sour cherry, orange zest and candied nuts.
Distillery Information
Robert Cooper crafted Hochstadter's Slow and Low Rock & Rye. Cooper is a third-generation distiller. His grandfather, Maurice, founded Cooper Brewery in the early 20th century and his father, Sky, worked at Charles Jacquin et Cie, a distillery in Pennsylvania.
