Johnnie Walker Blue Label - Brora & Rare (Ghost & Rare) Scotch Whisky

This is the first release in Johnnie Walker's Ghost & Rare series, which sees master blender Jim Beverage combine the exciting whiskies found in the esteemed Blue Label with seldom-seen stocks of whiskies from closed distilleries. For the inaugural expression, Jim Beverage has created a blend with a helping of single malt from the legendary Brora distillery at its core.

Johnnie Walker Blue Label - Brora & Rare (Ghost & Rare) Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Earthy oak and petrichor, tempered by layers of thyme honey and maple syrup.

Palate: Rich walnut and hazelnut notes begin to take shape on the palate, joined by whiffs of peat smoke and roasted orchard fruit.

Finish: Vanilla pod and brown sugar, with just a hint of salted caramel appearing right at the end.

Distillery Information

In 1857, Alexander Walker — Johnnie Walker’s eldest son — inherited the store and began improving its selection of single malt Scotch whiskies. In addition, Alexander had apprenticed with a tea merchant in Glasgow and there, had learned the art of blending tea. Under his stewardship, the House of Walker began blending whisky and bottling it in an iconic, square bottle adorned with a slanted label.
