Nose: Green apple, ripe pear, lemon zest, honey, vanilla, toasted barley, coastal breeze, gentle peat smoke, polished oak, and subtle mineral notes.

Palate: Creamy malt, honeycomb, baked orchard fruits, vanilla cream, salted caramel, citrus peel, roasted almonds, white pepper, gentle maritime salinity, soft peat smoke, and a rich, oily texture.

Finish: Long and refined, with lingering honey, citrus, sweet malt, toasted oak, light peat embers, sea salt, gentle spices, and delicate mineral freshness.

Distillery Information

Glengyle Distillery was originally founded in 1872 in Campbeltown and was revived in 2004 by Mitchell's Glengyle Ltd., the owners of the neighbouring Springbank Distillery. To distinguish its whisky from historic Glengyle releases, the revived distillery bottles its spirit under the Kilkerran name, derived from the Gaelic name for Campbeltown, Ceann Loch Cille Chiarain. Production follows traditional methods with floor-malted barley supplied by Springbank, small-scale distillation, and natural presentation, resulting in whiskies renowned for their balance of fruit, gentle peat, coastal character, and oily texture. Limited releases such as the Open Day bottlings have become highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts, offering rare snapshots of Kilkerran's evolving spirit and celebrating the rich whisky heritage of Campbeltown.
