The Kraken is a rum brand created by Proximo Spirits and launched in 2010, drawing its identity from the legendary sea monster said to inhabit the Caribbean. The brand became particularly recognised for its dark, heavily spiced Black Rum and distinctive maritime-inspired packaging. Kraken Gold was introduced in 2023 as a lighter alternative, using Dominican rum aged for two years by the sea before being blended with the brand's signature spice profile. The Gold expression expands the Kraken range with a smoother, sweeter style while retaining the brand's distinctive dark-spice identity.
