Detailed Description
Detailed Description
A refined Morillon from the steep Ried Steinbach vineyard in Gamlitz, where sandy, gravelly and conglomerate soils encourage deep rooting and contribute a distinctly mineral character. The wine shows elegant Williams pear and quince alongside delicate linden and almond blossom, subtle citrus and fine spice. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts in large wooden casks and extended lees ageing bring a composed, creamy texture while preserving the wine’s fresh acidity. The palate is precise and mineral, with a long, graceful finish and excellent ageing potential.
Producer Information
Weingut Lackner-Tinnacher is a historic family estate in Gamlitz, South Styria, with roots dating back to 1770. The winery focuses on organically farmed vineyards and expressive wines shaped by the distinctive soils and steep sites of the Südsteiermark. Ried Steinbach is one of the estate’s important sites, with vineyards around 400–450 metres above sea level and a combination of sand, gravel and conglomerate soils. The estate’s Morillon reflects a Burgundian-inspired approach while remaining firmly rooted in the mineral, fresh character of Southern Styria.
