Nose: Red berries, baked apples, honey, floral sweetness, and soft oak with hints of gentle spice and light tannins.

Distillery Information

Lochlea Distillery is a family-owned farm distillery located in Ayrshire, Scotland, and is one of the few Scotch whisky producers that grows its own barley on-site. Every stage of production—from field to bottle—is carried out at the distillery, giving Lochlea complete control over quality and character. The Red Wine Cask Series was introduced as an annual limited-edition collection exploring the influence of different red wine regions on Lochlea’s house style. Following the Grenache-finished inaugural release, the 2026 edition turns to Tuscan Sangiovese casks, continuing the distillery’s commitment to innovative maturation while remaining firmly rooted in its farm-to-cask philosophy. The result is a whisky that combines youthful vibrancy with increasingly sophisticated cask influence, making it one of Lochlea’s most anticipated annual releases.
