A 35-year-old Macallan single malt distilled on 11 October 1989 and matured for most of its life in a refill bourbon hogshead before being finished in a Rivesaltes fortified-wine cask. This carefully balanced finish adds layers of honeyed fruit, preserved marmalade, dried apricot, and candied orange peel to the whisky’s mature, waxy character. Warm baking spices and toasted oak provide depth, while the citrus-led sweetness remains elegant rather than overpowering. Bottled without chill filtration or added colouring, with just 34 bottles produced.
