McCarthy's Oregon Single Malt Whiskey

McCarthy's Single Malt Whiskey is produced at Clear Creek Distillery outside of Portland, Oregon. Master Distiller Stephen McCarthy, ever the spirits pioneer, wanted to make an American whiskey in the style of Islay Scotch, but give it a local spin. So he sourced peated malted barley from Scotland, distilled it in Oregon, and aged it in Oregon oak.

McCarthy's Oregon Single Malt Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Light notes of peat and barley on the nose.

Palate: Flavor profile is full and robust, with hints of malt and peat that are complemented by notes of dried fruits, cherries and plums.

Finish: Finish is long and gently fades with a warming touch of honey and cinnamon.

Distillery Information

Clear Creek Distillery is a distillery based in Hood River, Oregon, formerly Portland, Oregon. Founded in 1985, it has been owned by Hood River Distillers since 2014. It is most well known for its eau de vie produced from Bartlett pears, though today it also makes a variety of other fruit brandies, aged spirits, and liqueurs.
