"Dietrich's decision to combine not just one, but two different cask finishes to the whiskey, created a complex balance of sweet and savory. The double finish is Madeira and Rum casks between 2-14 weeks. This really helps bring forth the earthy & spicy notes in a typical American Rye. This is a Whiskey dedicated to the fans, as a full-live playlist is used in the Black Noise sonic-enhancement process. Now, in terms of the nose, I got pinewood upfront with a touch of dried fig & hay. Some hints of rum, rye, malted barley, and very light traces of pear. The palate is direct with a taste of honey and clove before corn mash, sugar cane, toasted nuts, & traces of cinnamon or allspice, maybe even star anise on the palate. Got no indication of mint on the palate. The finish is light and smooth and lingers with notes of rye, wood, & corn husk. Overall, a very good Rye that saddens me to hear it's a One-Time Limited Edition Bottling. If you love Metallica, the Blackened Brand, or Rye Whiskey, pick yourself up a bottle before they are all gone. I don't expect these to stay in stock for very long. --"
