Michter’s 10 Year Single Barrel Rye 2026 is a limited-production Kentucky Straight Rye matured in fire-charred, new American white oak barrels. Michter’s uses a distinctive Kentucky-style rye mash bill with more corn and malted barley than many American rye whiskeys, giving the spirit a rich sweetness alongside its spice. The 2026 release was selected from barrels considered fully mature after extended aging, with an elegant balance of baking spice, citrus, floral notes and mature oak. Each bottle comes from an individual barrel, making subtle variations between barrels possible.

Nose: Vanilla, toffee and toasted almond with cinnamon, spearmint, fresh thyme, orange citrus and gentle oak.

Palate: Rich and layered, with cinnamon, caramel, malt, cocoa and apricot alongside peppery rye spice and mature oak.

Finish: Long and elegant, with crushed pepper, charred oak, vanilla, baking spice and lingering citrus.

Distillery Information

Michter’s traces its heritage to America's early whiskey-making tradition, with the original company founded in Pennsylvania before the modern brand was revived in Kentucky. Today, Michter’s operates distilleries in Louisville, including its historic Fort Nelson Distillery, and focuses on limited-production American whiskeys. The company places particular emphasis on barrel selection and maturation, with Master Distiller Dan McKee and Master of Maturation Andrea Wilson selecting barrels only when they reach the desired level of maturity. The 10 Year Rye has been one of Michter’s most sought-after limited releases since its modern reintroduction in 2014.
