Monsieur Balthazar Aumance | 700ML

Aumance from French whisky-makers Monsieur Balthazar is double distilled from a mash of corn, barley, and rye. The small batch whisky is matured entirely in sauternes barrels before being bottled without chill filtration.

Nose: Drizzles of caramel, with praline, toasted marzipan, and oaky spices.

Palate: Dried apricots, meringue, some milk chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Finish: Spices build alongside creamy cereal notes.

Distillery Information

Olivier never wanted to make an imitation of Scottish, American or Irish whisky. He wanted to produce a different, surprising whiskey, with local cereals, barrels from the Tronçais region or old barrels of French alcohol. It is thanks to this obsession with quality and difference that the distillery developed a different manufacturing process and thus created its own signature. In 2013, getting older, he wants to hand over. He meets David Faverot, a young enthusiast trained at the University of Alcohols of Segonzac, to whom he passes on his know-how. It is now up to David to write the future lines of the history of Monsieur Balthazar's Distillery.
