A remarkably mature 34-year-old North British single grain distilled in 1991 and bottled by Signatory Vintage in January 2026 as part of the Cask Strength Collection. Matured in a refill Oloroso sherry butt, cask #262086 produced just 442 bottles. The long maturation brings considerable depth to the naturally soft grain spirit, with polished oak, dried fruit, vanilla, toasted nuts and refined sherry character.

Nose: Vanilla fudge, polished oak and raisins with toasted almonds, orange peel, coconut and gentle spice.

Palate: Silky and rich, with toffee, dried fruits and sweet cereals alongside dark chocolate, roasted nuts and elegant Oloroso warmth.

Finish: Long and refined, with lingering oak spice, vanilla sweetness, cocoa, dried fruit and gentle sherry richness.

Distillery Information

North British Distillery was founded in Edinburgh in 1885 by Andrew Usher, William Sanderson and John M. Crabbie, originally established to provide a reliable supply of grain whisky for blending. The distillery became an important producer of grain spirit and remains one of Scotland’s major grain whisky distilleries. Its Coffey stills produce a light, clean spirit well suited to long maturation, where extended time in oak can develop remarkable softness and complexity. Signatory Vintage is one of Scotland’s leading independent bottlers, known for selecting individual casks and presenting distinctive expressions through collections such as its Cask Strength Collection.
