Detailed Description
Detailed Description
Bottled by Thompson Bros for the An Edinburgh Dram range, this North British was distilled in 2008 at Edinburgh’s North British Distillery and matured for 17 years in sherry oak before bottling at 48% ABV. As a single grain whisky, it leans into the softer, rounder side of long maturation, with the sherry casks adding an extra layer of richness and sweetness to the distillery’s naturally easy-going style. This is a particularly indulgent style of North British, full of creamy texture and confectionery character. The sherry oak brings out wave after wave of milk chocolate, giving the whisky a rich, dessert-like profile that feels especially appealing for those who enjoy sweeter single grain bottlings.

Distillery Information
North British was founded in Edinburgh in 1885 by a group of independent blenders including Andrew Usher, William Sanderson and John M. Crabbie, with production beginning in 1887. The distillery was created to break the grain whisky monopoly held by DCL, which gives it a particularly important place in Scotch whisky history.
