A bold and unconventional liqueur combining Italian-made amaretto with Campbeltown spirit before being finished and bottled in Scotland. The high-strength 50.2% bottling gives the expression considerably more intensity than a traditional amaretto, balancing rich almond and marzipan sweetness with malt, dried fruit and warming spice.

North Star Campbeltown Soop Amaretto Liqueur | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Rich almond and marzipan lead with caramel, vanilla and dark cherry, followed by soft malt and warming spice. A subtle oily, maritime character from the Campbeltown spirit adds depth.

Palate: Dense and full-bodied, with sweet toasted almond, marzipan and confectionery notes layered over rich malt, dried fruit and caramel. Warming spice and the underlying Campbeltown spirit provide structure against the pronounced sweetness.

Finish: Long, warming and richly nutty, with lingering almond, marzipan, malt and dark fruit. Gentle spice and a subtle coastal character remain into the finish.

North Star Spirits is an independent Scottish bottler founded by Iain Croucher in Glasgow in 2016. The company is known primarily for distinctive single-cask whisky releases, generally presented at high strength with an emphasis on natural character. The Campbeltown Soop range represents North Star’s more experimental side, combining Scottish spirit with classic liqueur styles to create unusual crossover expressions.
