North Uist Distillery Downpour Sloe & Bramble Scottish Gin | 700ML

A rich, fruit-forward expression of Downpour Scottish Dry Gin, infused with tart sloe berries and hand-gathered Uist brambles before being aged in ex-bourbon casks. The combination creates a layered profile of juicy dark berries, gentle juniper, marzipan and vanilla oak. Less sweet than a traditional sloe gin, with enough structure to enjoy neat or with a mixer.

Nose: Juicy blackberry and jammy sloe lead into fresh juniper, dark fruit and subtle almond-like marzipan. Vanilla from the bourbon cask adds a soft, sweet oak character.

Palate: Tart sloes and ripe Uist brambles bring concentrated berry flavour, balanced by juniper and gentle herbal notes. Marzipan, vanilla and soft bourbon oak add richness without making the gin overly sweet.

Finish: Long, rich and fruity, with lingering sloe, blackberry and vanilla. A gentle oak warmth and subtle almond character remain on the finish.

Distillery Information

North Uist Distillery was founded by islanders Kate and Jonny Ingledew in 2017 and is based at Nunton Steadings on Scotland’s Outer Hebrides. The distillery places strong emphasis on local ingredients and the landscape of North Uist, incorporating wild-foraged botanicals into its spirits. Downpour was the distillery’s first spirit, and the brand has since developed a range of island-inspired gins and other spirits.
