Old Bones 10 Year Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey

This limited release, high-rye bourbon from Backbone Bourbon Company was distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana (MGP-sourced) from a mash bill of 55% corn, 40% rye, and 5% barley. Old Bones Bourbon 10 Year Reserve was bottled in Bardstown, Kentucky at a high proof of 55% ABV, after aging a decade in new, charred American oak barrels.

Old Bones 10 Year Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Aromas of cherry wood, cloves and apple pie.

Palate: Flavors of butter, pralines, coffee and key lime on the palate.

Finish: A bold finish is accented by tobacco and sweet cream.

Distillery Information

Jos. A. Magnus & Co. distillery was re-established in 2015, but the legacy of Joseph Magnus Bourbon dates back to the 1890s. After Magnus' great-grandson rediscovered an old bottle of his ancestor's whiskey amongst family heirlooms, the idea was hatched to revive the art of finished bourbon. Joseph Magnus Bourbon is comprised of 12-year-old bourbon from MGP in Indiana and triple-cask finished over several months in Oloroso sherry, Pedro Ximenez sherry, and Cognac casks at the Jos. A. Magnus & Co. distillery in Washington, D.C.
