Old Forester President’s Choice Rye 2026 is an exceptionally limited single-barrel rye selected from the distillery’s most mature and distinctive barrels. The 2026 release consists of individual barrels aged between seven and nine years and bottled at natural cask strength, with proof varying from 110 to 125. The whiskey shows a rich, spice-driven Old Forester profile, with dark chocolate, espresso, mint, citrus peel and toasted oak. Each barrel offers its own nuances, making individual bottlings particularly collectible.

Nose: Espresso, dark chocolate and dusty oak with mint, rye spice, citrus peel and subtle dried fruit.

Palate: Bold and concentrated, with rich mint, dark chocolate and caramel alongside peppery rye spice, toasted oak and hints of espresso.

Finish: Long and warming, with citrus peel, mint, dark chocolate, baking spice and lingering mature oak.

Distillery Information

Old Forester was founded in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1870 by George Garvin Brown and is Brown-Forman's founding brand. The President’s Choice tradition is inspired by private single barrels offered by former company president George Garvin Brown II in 1964. The modern series showcases exceptionally mature barrels selected for their complexity and distinctive character. President’s Choice Rye debuted nationally in 2025, becoming the first rye expression under the label, and returned for its second release in 2026. The 2026 rye continues the series' single-barrel, cask-strength approach and represents one of Old Forester's rarest whiskey offerings.
