A rare 30-year-old single malt released in 2026 to celebrate Old Pulteney’s 200th anniversary. Matured in American oak and refined in European oak, it showcases the distillery’s signature maritime character alongside rich mature oak. Sugared almonds, sweet oak, pear, green apple, toffee and citrus lead into salted caramel, baked apple and warming spice. Presented in a crystal decanter, with only 1,000 bottles produced worldwide.

Nose: Sugared almonds, sweet oak, ripe pear, green apple, toffee and citrus, with subtle floral notes and a gentle maritime breeze.

Palate: Bright pear and citrus, developing into salted caramel, baked apple and polished oak, with warming cinnamon and nutmeg.

Finish: Long and refined, balancing sweet caramelized fruit and oak with gentle saltiness and a lingering coastal character.

Distillery Information

Old Pulteney was founded in 1826 by James Henderson in Wick, during the height of the town’s herring boom, and for a time it was the most northerly distillery on mainland Scotland. Its history includes a long silent period after Wick voted to go dry under the Temperance Act: the distillery closed in 1930, prohibition in the town ended in 1947, and production eventually resumed in 1951. Later milestones include a major refurbishment in 1958, Inver House Distillers taking ownership in 1995, and the release of the now-iconic Old Pulteney 12 Year Old in 1997.
