Detailed Description

Penacho tequilas are presumably named for the be-plumed headdress of Moctezuma from the Aztec empire. According to the Culture and Development website: "...headdress made of over 450 bright green tail feathers of the quetzal bird, known as the crown of the last ruler of the Aztecs, Montezuma. For the Mexicans this item is one of the most important pieces of evidence of their pre-Columban history and that is not in their country. For the feather headdress is exhibited in the Anthropological Museum in Vienna - part of the 'inheritance from the House of Habsburg' and the show-piece of the museum's Old Mexico collection.
