Père Magloire Fine V.S. is a fresh and fruit-driven Calvados made to emphasize the natural character of Normandy apples. Unlike Pays d’Auge Calvados, it undergoes a single continuous distillation in copper column stills, concentrating its bright apple aromas. The youngest Calvados in the blend is aged for a minimum of two years in oak, with century-old oak barrels used to develop additional depth. Light, crisp and approachable, it showcases fresh apple rather than heavy oak or spice.

Nose: Fresh apple, sweet apple juice and soft cider with delicate floral notes and a clean fruity character.

Palate: Bright and fruity, with green apple, concentrated apple sweetness and subtle vanilla supported by a light, smooth oak character.

Finish: Clean and refreshing, with lingering freshly pressed apple, gentle sweetness and a soft vanilla note.

Distillery Information

Père Magloire dates its Calvados heritage to 1821 and is one of Normandy's oldest established Calvados houses. The maison is rooted in the orchards of Normandy, where numerous traditional apple varieties contribute to the region's distinctive cider and apple-brandy character. Over the generations, Père Magloire developed a reputation for combining traditional craftsmanship with a refined, fruit-focused style. Eight generations of cellar masters have helped preserve the house's distinctive approach to blending and maturation. Today, the producer makes both AOC Calvados and Calvados Pays d’Auge, with Fine V.S. representing its youthful, fresh and accessible expression.
