Rockpile Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Rockpile Bourbon is a five-year-old West Coast bourbon that is finished for one month in Montepulciano and Sangiovese wine barrels. The wine-cask finishing adds layers of bright red fruit and subtle tannins to the bourbon's traditional caramel and oak foundation. Cherry, raspberry, plum and black cherry are complemented by brown sugar, toffee and dried herbs. The result is a structured, fruit-forward bourbon with a long, dry finish.

Nose: Vanilla, toasted oak and warm caramel with cherry, raspberry and gentle earthy notes.

Palate: Brown sugar and toffee with plum, black cherry and dried herbs, supported by mild savory tannins and seasoned oak.

Finish: Long, warming and dry, with dark chocolate, seasoned oak and lingering dried-fruit character.

Distillery Information

Rockpile Bourbon was founded by Henry Belmonte as a personal project developed over five years alongside longtime collaborator Paul Tauro. The brand emphasizes patience, careful barrel selection and a connection between bourbon and the family's wine background. Its bourbon is West Coast made and is finished in wine barrels to introduce additional fruit and structural complexity. Production is carried out in collaboration with Griffo Distillery, whose craft-distilling expertise supports the brand's small-batch approach. Rockpile's philosophy centers on traditional bourbon character while allowing wine-cask finishing to create a distinctive California-inspired expression.
