Released as a more prestigious iteration of their signature aged rum, the Ron Barcelo Gran Anejo Dark Series Rum was developed to embody the nightlife and sophistication and similar to the concept of the black card, this rum can only be truly appreciated by an exclusive group. Made from a selection of 6-year-old rums that have been aged in heavily-charred ex-bourbon barrels, the rums are carefully blended to achieve the desired level of flavor and texture before being brought to proof with pure water and packaged in opaque and elegant black glass bottles.

Nose: Brilliant amber in color, each sip of this rum greets you with an alluring aroma of black cherry, orange peel, vanilla, caramel, spice, and toasted oak.

Palate: A rich, complex, and structured palate of caramelized fruits, sugar cane juice, palm sugar, espresso beans, dark chocolate, manuka honey, and toasted nuts.

Finish: An exceptionally long finish accented by notes of cinnamon, molasses, and black pepper spice.

Founded in 1930, Ron Barceló stands as one of the Dominican Republic’s premier rum producers offering a wide range of expressions from everyday sippers to luxurious limited editions. Using sugar cane juice instead of the more traditional molasses in their production, their rums are renowned for being versatile and approachable allowing them to garner a large following eventually becoming the 4th-largest rum exporter in the world with their products being enjoyed in over 50 countries.
