The Macallan Sherry Oak 18 Year Old 2026 Release is the latest annual edition of one of the distillery's most celebrated mature single malts. Matured for a minimum of 18 years on The Macallan Estate, predominantly in sherry-seasoned European oak casks from Jerez, Spain, it delivers the rich, robust and intensely sherried character associated with the collection. Concentrated dried fruits, sticky dates and sultanas are balanced by stem ginger, dark chocolate and warming oak spice. Full-bodied and polished, it combines deep sherry richness with refined vanilla sweetness and mature oak, while retaining The Macallan's signature elegant fruit character.

Nose: Red fruit mingles with vanilla sweetness, a soft wisp of smoke and honeyed malt, inviting warmth and depth on the first inhale.

Palate: Rounded and layered, the palate unfurls with orchard fruits—pear and apple—brightened by berry sweetness, a gentle kiss of peat, and warming spice that lingers with soft oak.

Finish: Smooth and balanced, with lingering fruit, soft smoke and mellow oak.

Distillery Information

Speyside Distillery was the long-held vision of George Christie, who bought the site in 1962 and spent decades developing it from an old barley mill near Drumguish. Although the buildings were completed in 1987, distillation did not begin until 12 December 1990, giving the distillery a relatively modern start despite its older-looking setting and traditional appearance.
