Suntory Global Spirits 10 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: A deep and complex bouquet of caramel, toasted oak, and vanilla, accented by a subtle hint of dried fruit and baking spices.

Palate: Rich flavors of sweet corn and brown sugar are beautifully balanced with notes of toasted oak, vanilla, and spice. The long aging process brings forth a smooth, velvety texture with layers of complexity.

Finish: A warm and lingering finish with echoes of vanilla, caramel, and soft oak, leaving a satisfying richness that lingers on the palate.

Distillery Information

Suntory was started by Shinjirō Torii (鳥井 信治郎, Torii Shinjirō), who first opened his store Torii Shōten (鳥井商店) in Osaka on February 1, 1899, to sell imported wines. In 1907, the store began selling a fortified wine called Akadama Port Wine (Akadama literally meaning "red ball," a euphemism for the sun).
