Detailed Description

Talking Cedar Kayak Gin is a Pacific Northwest-inspired gin crafted on Chehalis tribal land in Washington State. It is made with mountain water and locally foraged botanicals, with Douglas fir and juniper forming the core of its distinctive profile. Mountain yarrow and Nootka rose bring additional herbal, floral and lightly sweet dimensions. Bright, piney and aromatic, the gin captures the character of the surrounding Pacific Northwest in a distinctly regional expression.

Talking Cedar Kayak Gin Tasting Notes

Nose: Fresh Douglas fir, juniper and pine needles with bright citrus, mountain herbs and delicate Nootka rose florals.

Palate: Piney and botanical, with crisp juniper, candied citrus and fresh evergreen notes supported by earthy yarrow and subtle floral sweetness.

Finish: Long and refreshing, with lingering juniper, pine, rosewater and gentle herbal bitterness followed by a soft floral sweetness.

Distillery Information

Talking Cedar is a tribally owned brewery and distillery located on Chehalis tribal land in Washington State. The distillery is part of a historic effort by the Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis Reservation to establish legal alcohol production on tribal lands, following the overturning of laws that had prohibited Native American distillation. Talking Cedar now operates a state-of-the-art distillery producing gin, brandies, whiskeys and specialty botanical spirits. Its spirits program emphasizes ingredients connected to the Pacific Northwest and the land surrounding the Chehalis community. The Amaro represents this philosophy through the use of native botanicals and a contemporary American interpretation of the traditional herbal liqueur style.
