A distinctive Scottish gin built around hand-picked Sri Lankan Ceylon tea from the Amba Estate, supported by juniper, orange peel, liquorice root, coriander, angelica and grains of paradise. The tea brings an unusual combination of floral, citrus and softly sweet characteristics to the classic gin structure, creating a refined and aromatic expression.

Nose: Bright juniper and fresh citrus lead into delicate floral tea aromas, soft orange sweetness and a subtle hint of exotic spice.

Palate: Crisp and balanced, with juniper and orange peel at the core, followed by delicate Ceylon tea, gentle spice and a soft herbal sweetness. The tea adds a distinctive depth without overpowering the traditional gin character.

Finish: Smooth and warming, with lingering orange, juniper and subtle spice followed by a gentle minty sweetness. Clean, aromatic and lightly dry.

Distillery Information

The Teasmith was founded in Aberdeenshire in 2016 by Nick and Emma Smalley, inspired by Scotland’s historic connection with the tea trade. The brand’s signature botanical is hand-picked, hand-rolled Ceylon tea from Sri Lanka’s Amba Estate, chosen in tribute to James Taylor, the Scottish pioneer known as the “Father of Ceylon Tea.” Since 2025, Teasmith has been distilled at Strathearn Distillery in the Scottish Highlands under Douglas Laing, using traditional copper alembic stills and a two-stage distillation process.
