Tequila Ocho La Estancia Estate 2022 Extra Añejo is a single-estate expression made from 100% Blue Weber agave harvested from Rancho La Estancia in the Jalisco Highlands. The 2022 vintage was aged for three years in seasoned American whiskey barrels, allowing the mature agave character to develop alongside dried fruit, caramel, cacao, coffee, vanilla, and toasted oak. Its extended maturation remains balanced by the distinctive cooked-agave character of the estate.

Tequila Ocho La Estancia Estate 2022 Extra Anejo Tequila Tasting Notes

Nose: Ripe cooked agave, dried fruit, caramel, toffee, vanilla, cacao, custard, and seasoned oak.

Palate: Cooked agave, roasted coffee, honey, orange peel, toasted nuts, dark chocolate, caramel, and gentle baking spice.

Finish: Long and rounded, with lingering vanilla, coffee, cacao, toasted oak, caramel, and warm agave sweetness.

Distillery Information

Tequila Ocho was created by Carlos Camarena and the late Tomás Estes around the idea that tequila can express the character of a specific place and harvest. The brand pioneered its distinctive single-estate, vintage-dated approach, with each release identifying the rancho and year from which its agave was harvested. Produced at La Alteña Distillery in Jalisco, Ocho combines traditional agave cooking, fermentation, and copper-pot distillation with an emphasis on preserving the natural character of the agave. The La Estancia 2022 continues this philosophy through a particularly mature Extra Añejo expression.
