18 year old single malt from Glenrothes, released as part of the Soleo Collection. This series was named after the process of sun-drying grapes for the production of sherry in Jerez, and as such you should expect plenty of sherry notes throughout the range. This one features a very high proportion of first-fill sherry seasoned oak cask matured whisky at its core.
The Glenrothes 18 Year Old Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: Splendid aromas of orange oil, vanilla pods and almonds.
Palate: Sweet pears and vanilla on the palate, hanging out with flavors of ginger and rose water.
Finish: Sweet finish with a burst of spiciness and a slightly peppery surprise.
Distillery Information
The Glenrothes is a single malt Scotch whisky, produced at the Glenrothes Distillery, beside the Burn of Rothes in the Speyside region. The Glenrothes is used in blended scotch whiskies such as Cutty Sark and The Famous Grouse.
