The sixth and final release in The Macallan Harmony Collection, Inspired by Fresh Coconut explores an unusually tropical side of the distillery's character. The whisky is matured in carefully selected sherry-seasoned American oak and ex-bourbon casks, with the natural oak lactones bringing forward distinctive coconut aromas and flavours. Fresh coconut, citrus and tropical fruits combine with vanilla, sweet oak and gentle baking spice. Vibrant, creamy and elegant, it offers a notably fresh departure from Macallan's traditional dried-fruit-driven profile.

Nose: Fresh coconut, zesty lime, citrus notes of lemon and orange, tropical mango and papaya, layered with vanilla, almond, sweet oak, and a hint of nutmeg and cinnamon.

Palate: Sweet lime, lemon and vanilla sponge with desiccated coconut, icing sugar, coconut milk, sweet oak with dried tropical fruits.

Finish: Long, vibrant and fresh, with lingering coconut, floral honey, tropical fruit and delicate sweet oak. A gentle citrus brightness keeps the finish elegant and lifted.

Distillery Information

Macallan was founded by Alexander Reid in 1824 on the Easter Elchies Estate above the River Spey, and it was one of the first distilleries in Scotland to become legally licensed. The name comes from the older place name “Maghellan”, combining the Gaelic magh for fertile ground with a reference to St Fillan, who was associated with the church that once stood on the estate. Easter Elchies House, which remains central to the brand’s identity, dates from around 1700 and still sits at the heart of the estate.
