Vagabond Spirits Old Pearls Maurice VSOP Rum | 700ML

A rich Mauritian traditional rum distilled in a column still from molasses and aged for 51 months in heavily toasted first-fill Bourbon barrels. It then receives a distinctive two-month finish in casks that previously held orange liqueur and Cognac from Maison Prunier. The combination creates a generous, gourmand profile where toasted oak and warm spice meet orange, cocoa, nuts and dark fruit. Slow, drop-by-drop reduction brings the rum to its final 50% ABV while preserving its dense texture.

Nose: Orange cocoa butter, fresh orange zest, macadamia nuts, peanut butter and black cherry, with toasted oak and gentle spice.

Palate: Dense and velvety, with candied orange, dark chocolate, caramel, roasted nuts and warm spices, balanced by a subtle citrus acidity.

Finish: Long and warming, with cappuccino, cigar box, orangette, cocoa and lingering toasted oak.

Vagabond Spirits is an independent French rum bottler focused on exploration, unusual blends, and experimental maturation techniques. The Off Road series reflects this philosophy by taking rums from different island traditions and subjecting them to unconventional aging environments. For Off Road 3.2, the company combined Cape Verdean Grogue with Guadeloupe rum before sending the filled French-oak barrels beneath the Atlantic off Brittany, creating a distinctive expression shaped by both tropical cane traditions and maritime maturation.
