Very Old Barton 80 Proof, is made by Barton Brands at its Barton Distillery in Bardstown, KY and owned by the Sazerac Company. It has a mashbill of 75% Corn, 15% Rye, and 10% Barley and is at least 4 years old at the time of bottling.

Nose: Rich, tawny amber hue. Lean woody aroma.

Palate: A firm attack leads to a medium bodied palate with a drying woody character.

Finish: Dry, warm finish.

Distillery Information

Barton 1792 Distillery was established in 1879 and denys today as the oldest fully-operating Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. Situated in heart of bourbon country on 196 acres, the Distillery boasts 29 barrel aging warehouses, 22 other buildings including an impressive still house, and the legendary Tom Moore Spring.

"While visiting the USA for the first time in six years. My brother in law is an avid Bourbon man as am I.(Only drawback is finding bourbon that's affordable overseas). While visiting my family I picked up a bottle of Very Old Barton on a whim and was very excited in my purchase. This was a bourbon that I enjoyed even more than the more expensive brands that I drank while there. In a nutshell, Very Old Barton was my go to evening drink for over a month. You can spend more on others but a side by side comparison I choose Very Old Barton for the taste, smoothness and price. In my book you can't go wrong with Very Old Barton."
