Wagemut PX Cask Rum | 700ML

A 10-year-old Barbados rum matured initially in former Bourbon barrels before receiving a three-month finish in freshly emptied Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks in Germany. The PX casks are deliberately regenerated with Sherry immediately before the rum is filled, giving the spirit a particularly rich influence of dried fruit and sweet Sherry character. Bottled without coloring at 40.3% ABV, it combines soft Barbados rum with vanilla, oak, dried fruit and warm Sherry sweetness.

Wagemut PX Cask Rum | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Dried fruit, raisins, vanilla, sweet Sherry and toasted oak with hints of caramel and gentle spice.

Palate: Velvety and rounded, with dried fruit, vanilla, caramel and sweet PX Sherry supported by warm spices and polished oak.

Finish: Long and smooth, with lingering sweet Sherry, dried fruit, vanilla and woody notes.

Wagemut is a German independent spirits producer focused on transparent maturation and distinctive barrel-finished spirits. Its PX-Cask series centers on Barbados rum matured for 10 years before further maturation in Germany in freshly emptied Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks. The Cask Strength edition was developed after Wagemut served the PX-Cask directly from the barrel at its 2025 summer festival and received strong interest. Beginning with the 2026 release, the cask-strength expression is intended to be produced only once per year, with a different animal motif used for each annual bottling.
